A Study of Motivation for Change and Meaning in Life among Alcoholic Women -Focused on the Mediating Effect of Social Support

Abstract
This study examined to test the role of social support as mediators in the motivation for change and meaning in life among alcoholic women. Subject in this study consisted of 244 alcoholic women who aged 18 years and over in Seoul and Gyeonggi province. Data were collected by self-administered questionnaires. The statistical significance was rested by AMOS 18.0. The findings of the study were as follows: First, motivation for change - social support, motivation for change - meaning in life and social support - meaning in life of alcoholic women did show the direct relationship. Second, social support worked as mediators between motivation for change and meaning in life. The implications and limitations of these findings were discussed, and directions for future studies were also proposed.
